Marnie Recker is a photographer and painter living on the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish and Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations. The open ocean and ancient temperate rainforests are a great source of inspiration for her creative life. She moved to Tofino over 24 years ago and has been working as a professional photographer since 2011, creating time capsules of people, weddings and nature.

If she's not chasing the light with her camera, you can find her painting in her studio. Her creative process is an exploration of mystical, spiritual, archetypal and earth-honouring themes. Her interest in culture, history and social justice had her pursue a BA in Anthropology from the University of BC and recently she completed a graduate degree at the Vancouver Institute of Art Therapy. She deeply values how art is medicine for the soul. She believes everyone is an artist and to come back to one’s creativity and imagination is the most healing thing we can do.

Marnie is currently booking wedding and portrait photography sessions for 2022 and 2023. She is available in Tofino and Ucluelet, across Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.

She is also taking painting commisions. Get in touch with your questions, visions and ideas!
